Self-esteem and the performing musician
31 October 1996

I just read an article in Utne Reader hypothesizing that many Americans end up robbing, raping, and killing their fellow citizens because of an unhealthily high self-esteem. As always, I see a solution to this problem in music: spending an afternoon booking gigs always reminds me of my place in the universe. In fact, if you think you might be burdened with excessively good feelings about yourself, to the extent that you may be in danger of becoming a criminal, let me know and I'll put you to work as my manager for a while.

Enhanced CD underway
1 October 1996

I'm rolling slowly along on a new CD that I hope to have out around the end of the year. For the first time in my life, I have no clue what I'll name this project, so let me know if you have any suggestions.

16 September 1996

I've only met a few other Arlos before, and I've never witnessed more than two Arlos in the same room. But I'm feeling a little claustrophobic here on the web -- do you have any idea how many other Arlos are actually out there?

Here are a few for you to check out. Tell them I sent you.
